Pangkalan Bun is a pleasant town on the Arut River. ‘Whoever drank from the Arut River will surely return to Pangkalan Bun,’ says a classic saying for those who visit the town for the first time. The phrase illustrates that certain feeling of nostalgia that one day one will return to visit the town. Its typical riverside life together with heritage sites along the banks of the river makes Pangkalan Bun special. It serves as gateway to visitors who wish to venture into the exotic Tanjung Puting National Park. It has The Orangutan Care Center Quarantine (OCCQ) which is the facility for taken care of wounded Orangutans and those confiscated by the Natural Resource Conservation Office (BKSDA).
In this quarantine facility, visitors can interact with charming orangutan babies. The traditional kelotok and getek boats as well as speedboats of every shape and size passing by on the Arut River which you can use to cruise and venture along the long and wide river. About one hour drive from downtown Pangkalan Bun, a relaxing scene awaits at the Kubu Beach. There are also areas which are perfect spots for fishing. Along the shores, visitors can also watch and took part in the activities of the fishermen.

Day 1
 AIRPORT/HOTEL –HARBOR – TANJUNG HARAPAN CAMP – PROBOSCIS MONKEY — KLOTOK ( L,D )

Pick up by our tour guide or driver at the airport.

Transfer to harbor about twenty minutes. Meet the crew then go to Tanjung Puting National Park, you will enter a river who is called Sungai Sekonyer. Lunch will served on Klotok, you are boating up about two hours to get the first camp called Tanjung Harapan, It has time to see Orangutan at 15:00 pm. You will take a walk about twenty five minutes to get the a place of Orangutan feeding. After you see Orangutan you back to the klotok and continue to see proboscis monkey, they normally hang on the trees in the afternoon. Dinner will be served on klotok then crew will set up your bed, mosquito net and blanket. Let nature wake you up in the morning and coffee welcome your day in nature. 

Day 2
KLOTOK – PONDOK TANGGUI – CAMP LEAKEY – PONDOK AMBUNG –KLOTOK (B,L,D)

On this day you will visit two places of Orangutan feeding station.

In the morning the cook will serve you breakfast. Then you go to Pondok Tanggui, you will see Orangutan at this camp at 09:00 am. You will walk to this camp about fifteen minutes. It is the nearest place to see Orangutan, you will get best pictures ever on this camp. After you see Orangutan at this camp, you back to the boat and continue to Camp Leakey. Lunch will be served on the boat.

At Camp Leakey has time to see Orangutan at 14:00 pm. Camp Leakey was established in 1971 by Dr.Birute Galdikas and Rod Brindamour . Galdikas was encouraged in her dream of studying wild Orangutan in the forests of Southeast Asia by the late paleoanthropologist Dr. Louis Leakey who also the mentored Jane Goodall and the late Dian Fossey in their respective studies of chimpanzees and mountain gorillas.

When the time getting dark, the boat will park at Pondok Ambung, it is the place to do trekking at night. At this camp you have possibility to see glowing mushroom, nightigale bird, tarantula and centipede.

 
Day 3
KLOTOK – HARBOR –LONGHOUSE — AIRPORT/HOTEL (B,L )

After breakfast the boat will bring you back to the harbor. Arrive at the harbor, you will take a car to get Longhouse in Pasir Panjang village. It takes time about twenty minutes to arrive at Pasir Panjang Village. Native people will give you Ikat Tongang.

Ikat Tongang are about blessing and protecting symbol of Dayaknese tradition.

Blessing, Hornbill Dance and Drink Rice Wine(Tuak) are Dayak Tomun culture to ancestor in long time ago. Now they are still keeping and growing this custom to bless, wish, connect and welcome you to their home.

After visit the Longhouse then you go to Bee farming, it is about five minutes drive. You will see the bee which is not has sting. You will have a chance to taste the honey from the nest.

You will get lunch at Warung. After this our driver and tour guide will drop you to the hotel or airport. It is depend of your schedule.
